The PMBRC (www.pmbrc.org) has established itself as a leading research centre in the pharmaceutical, chemical and biological sciences in Ireland. Situated on the main SETU campus, the centre has an innovative research programme spanning drug delivery, molecular biology, solid state pharmaceutical science, analytical science, biosensor development and biomedical science. One of 16 Enterprise Ireland-funded Technology Gateways, the PMBRC supports R&D activities of a wide range of industries including the pharma, med tech, engineering and agri-food sectors. A truly multidisciplinary team, researchers in the PMBRC include chemists, biologists, biomedical scientists, physicists and engineers, and the centre has established links with national and international partners across industry and academia. The PMBRC was named Pharma Research Centre of the Year at the 2020 Pharma Industry Awards, having previously won the Research and Development Achievement awards in 2019 and 2017.
