Personal profile

I am an assistant lecturer and research in Department of Sport and Exercise Science in the School of Health Sciences.  I completed my PhD in 2022  entitled: 'Shedding Light on Men's Health: Evaluating the scalability of a community-based men's health programme 'Sheds for Life' through the application of implementation science', under the supervision of Professor Niamh Muprhy and Dr. Noel Richardson. This work focused on using implementation science to evaluate and implement a multi-level, gender-specific men's health initiative 'Sheds for Life' delivered directly in the Men's Shed setting in Ireland. The research used participatory research approaches and mixed methods to assess intervention effect (up to 12 months) and the effectiveness of implementation to inform scalability via a type 2 'effectiveness-implementation' hybrid design - guided by established implementation frameworks.
