I am a Computer Science PhD student specialising in Molecular communications for the treatment of brain pathologies.
I work at the Walton Institute for Information and Communication Systems Science, Waterford Institute of Technology - Ireland, working within the EU-H2020 FET Gladiator project (https://fet-gladiator.eu).
I am also an Electrical Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree from the Universidade Federal de Campina Grande - UFCG (Top Electrical Engineering programs in the country).
My research is currently related to computational and mathematical modelling in the area of Nanobioscience, Biophysics and Bioengineering, in the context of molecular communications and information theory for the treatment and diagnostics (theranostics) of glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive form of brain tumor.
Areas of research that I work or am interested: Neuroengineering/Bioengineering, Molecular Communications & Information Theory, Molecular Biophysics, Nano & Precision medicine, Computational/Systems Biology, Computational/Simulation Neuroscience, Cancer Targeted Drug-Delivery, Evolutionary Algorithms and Robotics, Bio & Nanocomputation, Connectomics, Artificial Intelligence (Deep Learning), Gene Regulatory Networks, Genetic Circuits/Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Control and Automation Engineering.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
