Sara Vero is an assistant lecturer in agricultural science. Sara completed a BScAgr in animal and crop production in UCD, followed by an MSc by research on the subject of soil compaction. Her PhD was conducted at Teagasc Johnstown Castle, in which she investigated time lag of nitrate through the soil. Sara held a post-doctoral role in Kansas State University, before returning to Ireland as a research officer with the Teagasc Agricultural Catchments Programme and the catchment science team in the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute.
Sara has a particular enthusiasm for fieldwork, having published a guide on the subject entitled 'Fieldwork Ready' in 2021.
- Soil physics and hydrology especially nitrate time lag and hydrologic controls on phosphorus release.
- Soil chemistry.
- Farmyard management.
- Silage and silage effluent.
- Stream shading.
