Biography

Sinéad holds a BE in Civil Engineering and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from NUI Galway. Her research involved experimental characterisation, computational modelling and the development of a design tool for fretting fatigue and wear in the pressure armour layer of flexible marine risers.

Sinéad worked as a Postdoctoral researcher (Additive Manufacturing - AM) and Scientific Coordinator in SEAM Research Centre from 2017 to 2021. She was the lead researcher for the DTIF E-Bambi project pertaining to Enhanced biocompatibility of AM Biomedical implants for improved clinical outcomes. Sinéad's research interests are materials engineering, mechanical characterisation and computational structural and material analysis.
