Exploring the Expansion of Educator Toolkits to Engage Neurodiverse Students in Immersive Learning Environments in Higher Education

The aim of this research is to explore the expansion of AIEd educator toolkits (Fink, 2019; Maughan et al., 2013) to help immerse neurodiverse students in HE learning environments. The research question asks: Can AIEd toolkits enhance neurodiverse students immersive experience? Cognisant of a student-centric approach to education, the proposed application of AIEd uses pedagogical models to link the student learner and the subject domain. Known to help with student learning (Flink et al., 2019), immersive learning environments (ILEs) are learning situations that are constructed using a variety of techniques and software tools, including game-based learning, simulation-based learning and virtual 3D worlds.
