A Low Cost Automated Medicine Unit

Abstract

This paper describes an automated medicine unit in which pills and medicines can be delivered at a lower cost than those provided at the medical stores. The implemented system also provides a centralized database which stores the medical history of each and every patient. It is possible to recover the data for further analysis and obtain the information of all the illness affected by the patient. In future, the system will be expanded to an 'Anytime Medicine Kiosk' where the common man can avail medicines at any time at a lower cost and the medical history of all the people in a given area can be obtained easily.
