N2 - This paper reviews the emerging area of communication for biological Nano and MEMS devices. Initially, Nano and MEMS motivation and concepts are introduced. Second, current research and related concepts are discussed under the following headings: molecular communication, nanotubes, information theory, Nano computation and biocellular signalling. Finally a novel communication platform for biological Nano and MEMS devices is proposed.
